What is Rapport?

 

Rapport is a critical factor in all of our sales and relationships. Often, we only become aware of rapport when it is absent or missing. How do we know when we are out of rapport? We feel uncomfortable. Sometimes we say that we lost our “mojo” as we leave an appointment where we didn’t connect. Rapport requires that we pay exquisite attention to the other person, with a heightened sense of listening and sensory acuity. The next time you are on an appointment, be keenly aware of mirroring and matching the other person’s body language, words and phrases, and breathing. This will naturally start to build rapport because your attention is on them, and not on you.
